The 14th Generation Intel Core surprises with better than expected performance

We already have the first results, tests and tests on some processors of the latest version of Intel , those of the 14th generation , which, although it has not yet been launched, there are already leaks. Let’s see what it has in store for us, but I can tell you that its performance is better than we thought. Or at least for now.

Both the Intel Core Ultra 165H, aimed at laptops, mini PCs and AIOs, and the Core i7-14700K, have left us two very interesting news. Let’s get to know them now.

Core Ultra 165H performance?

On the one hand, we have the leak of the performance that the Intel Core Ultra 165H offers us thanks to the GeekBench website .

This processor would be made up of 6+10 cores, forming a total of 16 cores and 22 threads, with a basic frequency of 3.8 GHz and a maximum turbo frequency of 5 GHz. Also equipped with 4 MB of L2 cache and 24 MB of L3 cache.

It would not be the best on the market, but it still offers us some very interesting results, in which we can see that it reaches, with a single core, 2502 points and with several cores 12545, getting very close to the Core i7-13700H . Something quite interesting.

In addition, we must remember that it would be in a polishing stage, it is not a final phase, so these could still improve significantly.

The Meteor Lake Core Ultra will be built with the Intel 4 process and the 5nm TSMC and its release date will be December 14, so we still have more than a couple of months of testing and tweaking left.

They achieve 6.0 GHz on the Core i7-14700K

On the other hand, we have the Core i7-14700K , belonging to the Raptor Lake Refresh family , which has also been leaked in a test where its capacity has been set to its maximum, performing an overclock, in which it has returned a frequency of up to 6.0 GHz, thus surpassing its previous generation by 20%, something very striking, since the theory did not give us such a significant improvement, and that could change the appreciation we have about this generation, since it would be achieving the same results than the flagship Core i9-14900K .

It is believed that the price of these processors will increase by about 15%, something that until now seemed excessive to us, even with this year’s inflation, however, if their performance is capable of exceeding that cost percentage, then things will change. , since we would talk about a good improvement.

In any case, as we said before, these are still tests, so the final result could vary, as well as its price, of which nothing has been confirmed yet. So we will be waiting for new leaks, to see if they manage to increase this performance even more and we will return with more news, hopefully even better, during these little more than 2 months that remain to be able to really see them in person and that the tests are now completely real.

And you, what do you think of the next generation of Intel? There is news that leaves us very disappointed and others very happy. Do you think it will be a failure or a resounding success?

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
